Analytik Jena – multi N/C 3300 Series
An ultra-sensitive and highly precise UV digestion system, perfectly tailored for ultrapure water analysis—even in the trace range, and without the need for persulfate.
High Performance for Wet Chemical UV Digestion – Precision at the Ultra-Trace Level
Ultra-trace TOC analysis demands exceptional sensitivity and operational efficiency. The multi N/C system designed for wet chemical UV digestion meets these demands with advanced flow injection technology and a highly sensitive focus radiation NDIR detector, achieving detection limits as low as 1 µg/L C.
Sample digestion is carried out using a long-life, high-power UV reactor equipped with two oxidation wavelengths (254 nm and 185 nm). These high-energy UV sources ensure rapid and complete oxidation of even the most stable organic carbon compounds—without the need for chemical oxidizing agents such as persulfate. This not only improves safety and reduces reagent consumption but also enhances analytical accuracy by eliminating blank value distortions caused by reagents.
The combination of the FR NDIR detector and the high-intensity UV reactor ensures precise CO₂ detection even in aggressive matrices and enables accurate measurement at both trace and ultra-trace levels.
The system also features the Easy Cal function, which allows stable multi-point calibration using a single stock solution, saving valuable time in routine operation.
Tailored for ultra-trace applications, the system’s automation solutions further streamline workflows. A comprehensive autosampler portfolio supports automatic acidification, parallel purging, and magnetic stirring to ensure consistent sample homogenization. External needle rinsing helps prevent carryover, while the EPA sampler supports operation with polymer septa—ideal for ultrapure water TOC analysis. Additionally, continuous purging of reagents minimizes blank values and enhances result reliability.
For solid sample analysis, the system can be extended with the HT 1300 module, which enables manual introduction of samples via ceramic boats and non-catalytic high-temperature combustion at up to 1800 °C (with additives). For total inorganic carbon (TIC) analysis in solids, a TIC module is available, supporting manual acid digestion for accurate differentiation of carbon forms.
With its cutting-edge UV digestion, high sensitivity, and customizable automation, this system offers a complete and efficient solution for laboratories performing ultra-trace TOC analysis in both liquid and solid matrices.
TOC Trace Analysis Without Oxidizing Agents
The multi N/C 4300 UV is a high-precision analyzer developed specifically for TOC analysis at the ultra-trace level. It is ideally suited for critical applications such as boiler feed water monitoring in power plants, water for injection (WFI) in pharmaceutical production, and TOC cleaning validation. The system features a powerful, long-life UV reactor that enables complete and rapid digestion of even the most stable carbon compounds—without the need for chemical oxidizing agents like persulfate. This eliminates the risk of blank interferences and ensures greater accuracy and operational efficiency.
With injection volumes of up to 20 mL, the analyzer delivers maximum sensitivity at ultra-trace levels. The parallel purging and measurement capability enables high NPOC sample throughput, making it ideal for laboratories that require both precision and speed.
The device comes with a user-friendly, intuitive software interface featuring real-time result display, and offers full support for 21 CFR Part 11 compliance, making it ready for use in regulated environments such as the pharmaceutical industry. Long-term calibration stability significantly reduces maintenance and operational workload.
Automation features such as automatic acidification, sample purging, and magnetic stirring ensure consistent homogenization and reproducible results. For extended functionality, the system can be upgraded with a solids module, enabling non-catalytic high-temperature combustion for TOC analysis of solid samples.
To ensure peace of mind and reliability, the multi N/C 4300 UV includes a five-year warranty on the focus radiation NDIR detector and a three-year warranty on the UV reactor.
Product Variant at a Glance
The multi N/C 4300 UV is an ultra-sensitive TOC analyzer, specifically designed for ultrapure water applications, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry. Thanks to its high-performance UV oxidation, it is also ideal for complex sample matrices where traditional combustion-based systems may fall short.
While nitrogen analysis is not supported, the device can be optionally extended for solid sample analysis. The available HT 1300 module allows for non-catalytic high-temperature combustion, and an additional TIC module enables acid digestion for total inorganic carbon determination in solids.
