The multi N/C 2300 series meets these demands with innovative design and advanced technology. Its septum-free direct injection system, using microliter syringes, is equipped with an efficient rinsing mechanism that effectively prevents blockages and sample carryover—even when handling particle-rich or emulsion-like samples.
At the heart of the system lies the wide-range focus radiation NDIR detector, which allows for an extensive measurement range from 0 to 30,000 mg/L TOC. This enables direct analysis without the need for sample dilution. The Easy Cal function ensures long-term calibration stability and precise standard recovery. Additionally, the VITA flow management system guarantees reliable performance by automatically compensating for gas flow fluctuations.
For automatic sample handling, the AS 60 autosampler streamlines the workflow with integrated acidification, purging, and magnetic stirring for effective homogenization of liquid samples. An optional 112-position rack for 2 mL HPLC vials further enhances sample capacity and throughput.
The system also supports TC and TOC analysis in solid samples. The dual furnace module provides catalytic combustion at up to 950 °C within the instrument, while the HT 1300 solids module offers catalyst-free combustion up to 1800 °C (with additives) in a ceramic combustion tube. Solid samples of up to 3 grams can be introduced horizontally in ceramic boats—no foil wrapping required. The solids module is available as part of the fully automated multi N/C 2300 duo or can be retrofitted with manual or automated sample introduction as needed.
For nitrogen analysis, the instrument can be optionally equipped with a ChD (electrochemical detector) or an advanced CLD (chemiluminescence detector), either integrated during initial configuration or added later as an upgrade.
