SmartSaver™ USB Solvent Recycler – Efficient Solvent Recovery for Isocratic HPLC
The SmartSaver™ USB Solvent Recycler is specifically designed for isocratic HPLC applications, enabling efficient solvent recycling that can save up to 90% of the mobile phase. In many cases, the majority of the mobile phase remains uncontaminated, making disposal unnecessary. By continuously monitoring the detector signal, the SmartSaver™ automatically redirects clean solvent back to the solvent reservoir, reducing both solvent consumption and waste disposal costs.
Intelligent 3-Way Valve Operation
The device operates using a 3-way switching valve, which is directly connected to the detector’s mobile phase output. Its functionality is based on the input signal level:
- If the signal level exceeds the pre-set threshold, the valve switches to the waste position, ensuring that contaminated solvent is properly discarded.
- If the signal level remains below the threshold, the uncontaminated mobile phase is redirected back to the solvent reservoir, allowing for reuse.
- To prevent cross-contamination, the switching back to the recycle position is delayed, ensuring that all solvent has sufficient time to travel from the detector cell to the 3-way valve.
